Mr. V, the infamous CEO of V Galactic Dominion Holdings Limited, has his sights set on Wisconsin. He’s got plans to take our electricity, water, land, and tax dollars so he can build the world’s largest hyperscale data center in our state and we need your help to stop him!
Join the Working Majority, local community groups, and hundreds of Wisconsinites on Sunday, October 25th in downtown Milwaukee for a wild data-center themed scavenger hunt. Heroic teams of up to 8 participants will decipher clues and visit local sites on foot as they learn about data center impacts in order to chase down Mr. V in the streets of Cream City and save the state from certain disaster.
Teams are encouraged to pick a theme for the event - there will be prizes for the team with the best costumes. A group of Packers linesmen? KPop Demon Hunters? Polka band? Golden Girls? WWE wrestlers? Soccer moms? CHOOSE. YOUR. FIGHTER.

8. What’s the big deal about data centers anyways?
Data centers are giant warehouses full of computers that power AI, and tech giants are racing to build them across the country with little oversight or public input. They use massive amounts of electricity and water, and when utilities companies have to build new power plants and lines for them, the cost can land on your monthly bill. Meanwhile, Wisconsin data centers get state tax breaks that never expire, and they don't have to create a single permanent job to qualify.
Data center complexes can be up to three square miles large and are often built in secret using non-disclosure agreements and shell companies, minimizing local community members' ability to understand, question, or oppose the development. We don’t have the full scope of what economic, resource, environmental, and quality of life impacts these buildings will have for host communities.
This year alone states like Texas, Florida, New York, and Ohio have paused projects, ended tax breaks, and other forms of oversight because of the unintended consequences from data centers on their residents.
Impacts in Wisconsin:
-
Once completed, the two largest Wisconsin data center structures will require more energy than is needed to power every home in the state. While the state's energy regulators ruled that utility companies can't shift costs related to data centers onto other customers, tech companies and utilities appealed this decision and just sued the state to weaken protections . The state also admitted that customers are already on the hook for about $100 million related to data center transmission lines. In other parts of the country with lots of data centers, the price of electricity has gone up as much as 267% in the last five years.
-
$2 billion in lost state revenue due to data center tax breaks for the four largest data centers, with an annual loss of $369 million each year moving forward.
-
After construction ends the typical data center only employs around 50 people. Meanwhile experts estimate that by 2030, about 6% of American workers may be pushed out of their jobs by AI and automation. In Wisconsin, that's roughly 200,000 jobs.
9. What is the Working Majority?
The Working Majority is a new group uniting Wisconsinites around their shared economic interests, no matter who they are, where they live or how they vote (or don’t vote). We are returning power to ordinary people in order to push both sides of the aisle to prioritize the needs of working and middle class families once again. In 2026-2027 we will be working on data center and AI oversight, affordable health care, and reducing the cost of living.
10. Who is Mr. V? Will he be there?
Mr. V is a fictional, villainous intergalactic data center CEO. If your team succeeds you should be able to nab him at the finish line.
